  • New DeWalt ToughSeries Ratchets 

    Over the years I’ve accumulated a number of ratchets for a number of different reasons. When a good deal comes around I find it difficult to resist adding to my ratchet repertoire even if it’s not totally necessary. This was the case when I stumbled upon these newly released DeWalt ToughSeries ratchets in early December 2025. The latest DeWalt 144 tooth ToughSeries Ratchets were instantly attractive to me due to their increased tooth count over their previous generation counterparts. Therefore I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to improve my tooling.

    I’d been eyeing a Hydraulic Impact Driver for every bit of the past year. On more than one occasion I came very close to buying the DeWalt DCF870B but ultimately held off since I didn’t have a pressing need for one. As I’ve stated previously, I am a member of Home Depot’s SEEDS Review program and during my campaign month in October 2025 I was presented with the option to select the M18 SURGE Impact Driver. Since I had been previously inclined to purchase I went ahead and made the selection over a handful of other, somewhat useful items. It’s one of those things where it’s a little difficult to get overly excited at the idea of a new drill, however this one did present a bit more intrigue due to the hydraulic capability.

  • DeWalt OPE + FlexVolt Platform Review

    One of my first five major tool purchases was the 7-1/4 inch Worm Drive Style Circular Saw (DCS577). If my memory serves me correctly that saw was also my first FlexVolt specific tool purchase. A few months earlier I picked up the FlexVolt Advantage Hammer Drill (DCD999) from Lowes. One year prior to buying my house I purchased the 12 inch Double-Bevel Compound Miter Saw (DHS790). Pretty much from that point on there was no looking back as I had grown a strong preference for the power and agility that the FlexVolt tools have to offer.

  • Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18V 30 in. Brushless Cordless Battery Powered Hedge Trimmer

    I first noticed these Hedge Trimmers at Equip Expo 2024 from a distance. I wasn’t compelled to  pay much attention to them as I said to myself a Hedge Trimmer is a Hedge Trimmer. I could see that Milwaukee was demonstrating the cutting power using several dowel rods at a time. Again, from a distance this seemed only slightly impressive if I’m being completely honest. It wasn’t until they were delivered and I was able to pull the trigger for myself that I quickly realized that I needed to rethink my level of enthusiasm.

  • DeWalt 60V Max Push Mower

    Initial Introduction 

    From various Reddit threads, to two separate Equip Expo visits along with a handful of recall notices it seems like I’d been eyeing this specific mower for the better part of two and a half years. My initial interaction with this mower was at Equip Expo 2023 in my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky. Being that it was my first time ever attending Equip Expo I made it a point to head straight to the DeWalt booth to see what they had to show off. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised at the sight of a Flexvolt lawn mower option.

    Nexus – The Actual Meaning 

    I initially saw the word “Nexus” and on first thought I figured it was just a cool sounding buzzword that Milwaukee applied to their latest and greatest product offering. It later occurred to me that I was somewhat familiar with the term “Nexus” through its utilization by a handful of other companies, not in the power tool space. Upon further clarification it turns out that it’s not just a clever buzzword implemented by Milwaukee Tool. This new system is exactly what it says it is, it is a systematic embodiment of the term. A Nexus is a point or series of points that connects independent parts together thus creating a sequence of components that act together to create a dynamic and complete system.
